Farewell to My Dear Aunt Thelma
Maintaining relationships with extended family can often be difficult if you come from my family of origin. One relationship I was always grateful to have is with my estranged fathers only sister, Thelma. She passed away today. She was a beautiful, intelligent, and graceful woman. My heart goes out to my Uncle Abe and my dear cousins. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo to share... just my heart.

The Renovation
I work for the Myasthenia Gravis Assocation of Western Pennsylvania. As the executive director of the organization, I lay in bed at night and think of ways to improve patient care and make the best use of our resources. The organization is fortunate to have our office space donated by our hospital partner, Allegheny General Hospital. As you can see from the photos, our original space was stark and uninviting. Today, the space is welcoming and has ample room for private patient care and comfortable surroundings. The space design was the result of several sleepless nights.

One Proud Mama
I never thought that I would be a military mom. Not that I didn't want to be. I just didn't think that the opportunity would arise. But, as you can see, it has. Ian made the decision to join the Air Force several months ago. He was sworn in this morning and shuttled to the airport as the property of the US Air Force. After eight weeks of boot camp, he will have a short break. Then, he will be joined by his lovely bride in Mississippi for air traffic control school. An new life. A new career. A bright future. I am blessed.

Making the Commitment
I find so much enjoyment in reading the musings of my friends and family... I am now toying with the commitment of starting a blog of my own. Frankly, I think I'll make a few posts before I even tell anyone to check it out.
So, here it is... my first post.
Is this a really commitment?
Not yet!
